Coffee Break with the Chief Barista
March 2010
I’m very pleased to bring you this March issue of Java Journal. As I scan the pages I become aware that its cover certainly reflects its content — spring, new beginnings, enthusiasm and well-being. I hope that you enjoy it as much as we at Java Journal have enjoyed bringing it to you. My deep appreciation goes out to my staff, our readers and our wonderful advertisers.
Spring is certainly a time when things begin to pop! I’m an early riser — by 5:45 a.m. I’m drinking coffee and preparing lunch boxes, eagerly anticipating getting to the office. And I enjoy the increased daylight. More than that, during the past several days we’ve had direct sunlight, and it feels wonderful!
March is a delightful month. For me, the thought of wearing summer clothing, gardening, hiking, fishing, more horseback riding and warm sunlight puts me in a very joyful frame of mind (I’m working on feeling joyful ALL the time). I can see the same exuberance in my son as he anticipates his first summer job (other than caddying) and attending summer camp. I don’t know of another event as exciting for children as preparing for summer camp. On pages 10 and 11 are wonderful camp options for kids. Consider sharing these options with your children and see their faces light up!
If you feel that you do not have the financial resources to provide a summer camp experience for your children, please consider contacting the camp of your choice anyway. There are many wonderful camps that provide scholarships for those who currently lack the resources. But you’ll need to act now. Make the call and set the wheel in motion. My son’s summer camp experiences have been some of the best experiences of his life! You have nothing to lose by asking. Ask!
As always, I love receiving comments and suggestions from our readers. If you have a thought or an idea that you would like to share, shoot me an email at marian@javajournalonline.com.
Kindly,
Marian Rein
