The Wolfman (R)(2010)
Lawrence Talbot (Benicio Del Toro) returns to his family estate, Blackmoor, located in rural England to help search for his missing brother, Ben (Simon Merrells). After an uncomfortable reunion with his estranged father, Sir John Talbot (Anthony Hopkins), he learns that his brother's remains have been found and that his death was the result of a horrific attack by a unknown man or beast. Teaming up with Gwen Conliffe (Emily Blunt), his dead brother's fiancee, Lawrence stays on at the estate to solve his brother's murder.
Meanwhile subsequent attacks cause the superstitious locals to light their torches and form a posse in search of a legendary beast that may be on the prowl. Aberline (Hugo Weaving), an officer from Scotland Yard is dispatched to the village to investigate the killings.
Scoffing at the local tales of curses and monsters, the inspector studies the case from an academic perspective as the townsfolk forge silver bullets for protection. There comes a time when Lawrence has to face the beast in the light of the full moon and the consequences are dire. Let's just say they ensure the possibility of a sequel. Rating: 3 (out of 4)
